More Pictures Of Me

My name is Collins Egbe, born in Tiko, SW province of Cameroon. I am a simple down to earth guy with an extraordinary passion for God and people.I graduated from Valdosta State GA With a degree in Chemistry and a member of the honors society.  My favorite quote is "Imagine What’s Waiting on the Other Side of Our Obedience, when I give of my resources, when I step out in faith beyond my natural abilities, when I love my neighbor, when i think of others". My goal is to become a medical doctor so i can help those in need. One remarkable definition of Christianity by Dr Fothergill is that a Christian was one who served his neighbor. If he saw a need, he strove to help it. The greatest of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively. Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value. Albert Einstein.

I grew up under the care of my grandmother, who taught me the meaning of hospitality. My grandmother was disciplined, kindhearted, and overly generous, at times even sharing food with strangers or people in need even when we had little to eat. I remember that her younger sister used to favor her son Terence over me whenever I went to visit, and it maddened me that my grandmother did not favor me over Terrence. In response, my grandmother told me that though aunt Magdalene was wrong, two wrongs do not make a right, thus she could not treat Terence unequally. I have adopted my grandmother’s philosophy in life, and whenever I am in a position to offer assistance, I do so without favoritism or discrimination. My grandmother passed and I started living with relatives.  My grandmother’s teachings to forgive and love everybody including those who hate me have helped me significantly. The values my grandmother inculcated in me through the guidance of the almighty God have helped me significantly to adopt this policy in life; Use your heart to love somebody and if your heart is huge and big enough, use it to love everybody for there shouldn't be a reason to help or love someone.

After all, the greatest man who ever lived on this Earth was a servant and He humbled himself as a servant. I take delight in serving because happiness doesn't result from what we get, but from what we give. Not looking into my own interest but the interest of others and also consider others better than myself is a humbling thing to do. The interest of knowing people and cultivating friends also suggests the thought that God intended us to find interest and fellowship with people. We are sometimes unfortunately so excessively taken up with ourselves and the technique of our days that we miss the rare delight of learning to know better all sorts and conditions of men. It is rewarding to cultivate the habit of looking for the interesting qualities in people. There is something interesting in every person and I've learned to look past the behavior and focus on the person because behavior comes from number of reasons. It is a great thing to look for the interest of others or just pay attention and be observance to the person next to us. If we only knew the drama, the tragedy, the comedy, even the glory and heroism in that man's life, he would be full of interest to us.
